  • John Breslin.

John M. Breslin, Esq., whose friends and family know him as Sean, has law in his blood. A third-generation attorney, Sean has been practicing law since 1996, when he graduated from Fordham Law School in Manhattan.

After some time spent working in insurance defense, he expanded his skill base to general practice including domestic violence trials, personal injury, wills, guardianships, municipal court, and debt collection. In 2010, he opened a solo practice in Newton, New Jersey, and is currently a solo practitioner.

Sean’s personal goal is to use his fifteen years of legal experience to give each and every client the one-on-one attention that they deserve. No matter what the legal needs are, Sean is confident in his ability to represent you. Unlike big legal firms that can take days to return your calls or pass you on to junior staff, Sean is committed to getting in direct contact with his clients to give them the best service possible. He holds a license in both New York and New Jersey, allowing him to expand his services throughout the New York Metro area.

Sean is a member of the New Jersey State Bar and Sussex County Bar Associations and the Knight of Columbus in Sparta. In addition to providing quality legal services, Sean is involved in his community, and has volunteered in the past with Karen Ann Quinlan hospice. An avid basketball fan, he has helped organize and raise money for the Lafayette Amateur Athletic Association through a golf fundraiser event, and has served as both a Catholic Youth Organization youth basketball coach, and Dreamfield AAU spring youth basketball coach.

He is currently a pool attorney public defender for Sussex County representing and defending the indigent charged with criminal complaints. He offers veterans’ assistance, pro bono services for domestic violence victims, and represents people who have been involuntarily committed at psychiatric hospitals.

When it comes to legal matters, Sean will take care of everything. It’s easy to get in over one’s head with the law, which is why you can trust Sean to handle all the planning and details. By building a strong relationship with the client, Sean is able to work with matters of civil litigation, personal injury, and municipal court. Estate litigation, breach of contract, traffic tickets, DWIs—all of these major issues can be easily handled by Sean Breslin.
