Morris Hill scored the first run of the game in the top of the third inning, though Sparta quickly responded with two runs of its own in the bottom half of the inning. Morris Hill was held scoreless the rest of the way as pithcer Gretchen Bowie earned the win, recording three strikeouts in four innings.

Sparta took control of the game when the team scored five runs in the sixth inning.

Pitcher Mary Mastriani allowed just two hits in three innings of relief for Sparta.

Carly Friedman continued her hot start to the season, knocking in two runs on a 2-for-4 performance.

Alex Heim also had two RBI's for the Spartans, while Amanda Johnson and Courtney McKeena each knocked in a run.

Team records:

Sparta is 9-6-0.

Morris Hills is 8-8-0.
