— The Sparta Marlins took on the Sparta Rangers in a weekend little league baseball game on Saturday, June 7.

The four inning game ended in a tie at 11 - 11.

The game took place at Station Park in Sparta.

The game was quite exciting and got even more exciting as a surprise guest showed up.

During the late innings someone yelled is that Yogi Bear?

Everyone's attention was quickly directed to a far end of the park. It was quickly realized that what they were looking at was not Yogi Bear, the famous cartoon bear from Jellystone Park, but a big black bear from somewhere in Sussex County walking along the park grounds.

The bear took his time walking then hurdled a fence before crossing a nearby road and disappearing into the woods.

The bear did not bother anyone but caused quite a stir.

After a few tense moments to account for all the players and fans the game was resumed.
