— On Friday, July 11, the Sparta Summer Concert Series welcomes Peter Karp and Sue Foley back to the stage.

Karp is a gifted singer-songwriter, guitarist, pianist and American troubadour. Engaging audiences, spinning tales part New Jersey, part Alabama. Well written tunes with blues licks and piano fills.

Foley is considered one of the finest blues and roots artists working today. Playing her telecaster, winning numerous awards, sharing the stage with greats like BB King, Buddy Guy, Lucinda Williams and Tom Petty.

In 2010 the two joined forces and released "He said...She Said", a collaboration adapted from letters and emails they shared during some tough times.

Their latest cd "Beyond The Crossroads" is a high voltage, piano boogie, slide guitar blues rock that combines the talents of the two noted singer-songwriting guitar slingers. The record was in the top 10 on Billboard Blues and number one for six weeks on National Blues and Roots charts.

The band features Niles Terrat on bass and Mike Catapano on drums.

Opening the show is locally known You And I.
