— Four basketball teams from the Sparta Summer League played two games on Tuesday, July 22.

Team McCarney beat Team Elmo by the score of 59-57. In the second game Team Jent beat Team Mcfarlane by the score of 77-64.

The games took place at Ungerman Field in Sparta.

Sparta Summer League Basketball commissioner Charlie Collver has been running the league for many years.

The league consists of high school, college and adult men looking to stay in shape and have fun competing during the summer months. Some of the rosters even boasts some players who have played professional basketball.

The Sparta Summer League games lengths are for two 20 minute halves.

The season lasts for several weeks and a playoff system is conducted.
