— The Sparta Public Library ran a six-week summer reading program for children entering pre-kindergarten through sixth grade to motivate children to read, encourage regular use of the library, and enable children to maintain their reading skills during summer vacation.

The program offered weekly raffles, story times, crafts, family movies, and family programs including Mad Science, Kurt Gallagher, and Rizzo's Reptiles.

Participants were also able to find Einstein weekly to enter the summer raffle.

Staff checked in 592 journals and read 4,706 books.

The program is held every summer. Registration begins each June.
