— Are you new to the Sparta area and looking for a friendly face? Maybe you've lived here for years and suddenly find yourself with time to explore some of the many wonderful things our community has to offer? No matter what your circumstance, Sparta Friends and Neighbors provides you with the opportunities to get involved and meet new people.

Sparta Friends and Neighbors is a social organization that seeks to promote friendship through a wide range of activities, events and philanthropic efforts.

Meetings are held the second Wednesday of most months at the Sparta Ambulance Building from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

Some of the monthly activities include bowling, bunco, books and movies, chick flicks, sassy stichers, creative happenings, evening socials, gourmet cooking, lunch bunch, mah jongg, pay it forward and more.

Members are free to be involved in as many activities as they choose.

The first meeting of the club year will be Wednesday, Sept. 10 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Sparta Ambulance Building..
