— Newton High School defeated Hackettstown High School in girls varsity basketball on Thursday, February 2. The final score was 51-32. The game took place at Newton High School.

Jasmine Luciani finished with a game-high 13 points for Newton. Irelee Ferguson and Olivia O’Brein contributed nine points each, and Kaitlyn Lynch and Jade Luciani contributed eight points each for Newton.

Lisa Kaditus and Hunter Ruppel led Hackettstown in scoring with 8 points each.

Team records: Hackettstown Tigers 11-5. Newton Braves 12-6.
