— It's time to jazz it up with Sussex County Community College (SCCC) on July 13 when the Florian Schantz Jazz Combo brings their array of talents to campus, as part of the Thursdays on the Green Summer Concert Series.

Florian Schantz formed the Florian Schantz Jazz Combo in 2012 at the age of nine. When Schantz reached the age of 11, he received the Louis Armstrong award, which is normally awarded to a high school senior in the immediate Westfield, NJ area. The Combo has performed at numerous venues throughout the tristate area. Their early success has taken them all the way across the Atlantic Ocean to perform in Germany.

The concert will be held on the Connor Green at SCCC. Parking and admission to the event are free. Vendors will be open for business at 6 p.m. and the concert will begin at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be available for purchase and attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs with them. The following week on July 20th, the Beatles Tribute Band, Fab Forward, will be featured.

The “Thursdays on the Green” concert series has been made available in part by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a partner of the National Endowment for the Arts, through the State/County Partnership Block Program, as administered by the Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council.
