Child care workshop offered

    NEWTON — NORWESCAP Child and Family Resource Services (CFRS) is offering coursework for professionals who work in early education or for those who aspire to work in the field. The Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential is a state and nationally recognized credential in early education administered by the Council for Professional Recognition. The CDA Credential guides early child care professionals as they work toward becoming qualified teachers of young children. This credential allows center staff to become a group teacher and increases the knowledge base and professionalism for family child care providers.
    The CDA is a working credential which involves 120 hours of coursework, 480 hours of work experience, development of a professional portfolio and an assessment process. CFRS provides the coaching and technical assistance throughout the process.
    An Information Night/Open House will be held on Wednesday, July 12th at the CFRS office located at 186 Halsey Road, Newton, N.J.
