— Sparta High School defeated Bergenfield High School (Bergen County, N.J.) in varsity football on Saturday, November 11, 2017. The final score was 17-0. The first round of the NJIAA North 1, Group 3 tournament took place at Sparta High School in Sparta Township, New Jersey.

Team records: Bergenfield Bears 6-4. Sparta Spartans 9-1.
