Talbots teams with education foundation

    SPARTA — The Sparta Education Foundation (SEF) is hosting an all-day shopping fundraiser on Tuesday, May 2 at Talbots’ 25 Sparta Avenue location from 10am to 7pm. Talbots will donate 10% of pre-tax sales to the SEF when customers mention the SEF at check out. Representatives from the SEF will be available to answer questions and share information about this non-profit organization that supports Sparta’s public schools.
    “We’re happy to be partnering with Talbots on May 2, and we encourage everyone to shop for upcoming Spring occasions like graduations, weddings, first communions and Mother’s Day,” said Danielle Dykstra, President of the Sparta Education Foundation. “This is a perfect opportunity to look good, feel good and do good by shopping at Talbots and supporting the SEF at the same time. Remember to mention the SEF when you are checking out to ensure that the Foundation receives 10% of your total pre-tax purchase price.”
    As an added incentive, customers with a Talbots credit card will receive 30% off their purchases during the Friends and Family Event taking place on Tuesday, May 2. All shoppers can take advantage of fashion advice from trained wardrobe specialists, and light refreshments will be provided.
    The Sparta Education Foundation has awarded over $782,000 in grants to all five of Sparta’s public schools since 2006. The Foundation is an independent, non-profit, all-volunteer organization whose mission is to engage the entire community in philanthropic giving that strengthens the public schools, supports teachers, and inspires students.
