| 22 Mar 2019 | 09:14

The creator of the various hikes and activities at Kittatinny Valley State Park (KVSP) is Lynn Groves, the park’s Naturalist. On Tuesday, April 9, from 7-9 p.m., Lynn will give a talk entitled, “Kittatinny Valley State Park: Discover What You’ve Been Missing!” Skylands Sierra Club invites anyone interested to meet Lynn and learn what the park has to offer. The presentation will be held at the Unitarian Fellowship Hall, 1 West Nelson St., in Newton.
Lynn will illustrate the history, natural resources, and interpretive programs of Kittatinny Valley State Park, as well as show two 5-minute videos featuring the park’s summer and winter recreational opportunities.
Lynn has presented more than 2,000 educational programs at KVSP on topics ranging from snowshoeing to sustainability. She is a certified Hatha Yoga instructor and a Rutgers Master Gardener. Recently, she became certified as a Forest Bathing Trail Facilitator to introduce this popular sensory awareness activity to park patrons. Lynn sets up hikes and activities, such as the “Hike-to-Happy Hour” series, the "Wednesday Walkers," and “Winter Tree Identification.”
