— The Recreation Department was hippity-hopping with fun and excitement last Sunday at the annual Breakfast with the Bunny, sponsored by the Sparta Recreation Department and Tech Flex.
Children flocked around the petting zoo displays which were set up outside. Kids were able to pet and feed several kinds of animals, including an alpaca, a newborn cow calf, a large white goose, several baby goats, rabbits and chickens.
Inside, the recreation hall was alive with children eating delicious breakfast items and dancing to the musical stylings of “Guitar Bob,” who played old and new children’s favorites.
Kids squealed with glee when the Easter Bunny made his entrance, giving high-fives and hugs to the swarm of children, all anticipating sitting on the Bunny’s lap for a picture.
With over 140 people in attendance this year, both seatings of the Breakfast were sold out. Sparta Mayor Josh Hertzberg and his family were among the attendees.
Due to the snow still covering the field behind Mohawk Avenue School, the annual Sparta UNICO Easter Egg Hunt was postponed to March 31 at 10:30 am.
