The Nelson brothers, of Fredon, enjoyed running with the program in the spring. Both attend the Fredon Township School.

FREDON — The Bears Youth Running Program will start on Friday, September 14. It is open to kids in grades four through eight and will be held every Friday until November at Lodestar Park in Fredon. Thanks to the sponsorship of The Law Office of Jeffrey S. Katz, in Newton, the program is just $25 per child for the season. The program groups kids according to ability and includes both endurance and speed. Said Bill Bosmann, one of the program's coaches, “It's so important to get kids outside and active and away from their phones and other technology devices, and this is what this program is all about. We get the kids active and having fun while doing it.” Kids should be dressed to run and bring a sports drink or water. The program runs from 4:30 to 5:30 each Friday, and meets at the park's pavillion. To reserve a spot for your child or further information, call: 973-362-8006 or e-mail: BearsRunningClub@aol.com.
