Dedication: Organist Jonathan Boksan at United Methodist
Sparta United Methodist Church presents a special concert performed by Organist, Jonathan Boksan.
He is a native of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania whose formal studies include Graduate studies at The Catholic University of America (Washington, DC) and The Pennsylvania State University (State College, PA), and Undergraduate studies at Moravian College (Bethlehem, PA). Through his musical training, Jonathan has studied repertoire coaching with Dr. Matthew Lewis, Dr. Jeremy Filsell, and Dr. Vincent Benitez and service playing with Mr. Christopher Betts. Jonathan has played dedications concerts, recitals, and lecture recitals throughout Northern Virginia, Washington, DC, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. As an avid church musician, Jonathan has served Episcopal Churches in Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania training and accompanying choirs in the great Anglican Choral Tradition. Jonathan is a member of The American Guild of Organists, The Royal School of Church Music, and The American Bach Society.
Musical selections include works by Sibelius, Buxtehude, Bach, Widor, and more!
The public is invited to the dedication and concert at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 27 at Sparta United Methodist Church, which is located at 71 Sparta Avenue, Sparta. The event is free and donations are accepted.
