No Shave November was started two years ago and the proceeds have been donated to local businesses in honor of the memory of a loved one. This year proceeds were donated in memory of Matthew Lanigan who had been a volunteer in the Sparta community since 2002. Matthew Lanigan was a lifetime member of the Sparta Ambulance Squad and he also worked as an EMT for St. Clare's in Dover.
