Wintry scenes from Sparta days goneby

Horse and wagon, 1930s. (Historic photos courtesy of the Sparta Historical Society).

When driving by the Sparta Historical Society, one can catch a glimpse of history and imagine how things used to be. The red barn has stood there for years. And the fur trees at the front of the property, roadside, are actually the remnants of a Christmas tree farm that used to be there. It's a lovely place to go take a walk, still, today.
The Dog and barn view photos are from the year 1984. The horse pulling the sled is from the 1930s. The older man in the photo is Floyd Decker . The boys in the photo are Jack and Tom Van Krik. Thanks to the Sparta Historical Society for the historic photos.
Here's a current look at how the property, including the Christmas tree area, and also the barn, which is near the current community garden.
