Limecrest Quarry changes hands

The quarry known as Limecrest, started by Thomas Edison more than 100 years ago, and subsequently operated by several different companies is now being run by the Braen Family.
Upon purchasing the land and quarry business, the Braen’s named the new enterprise Braen Stone of Sparta.
Currently, Braen Stone is manufacturing crushed granite products, which are available for sale. Eventually, however, the product offering will also extend to crushed limestone products, as well.
“Braen Stone of Sparta welcomes the opportunity to do business in Sparta/Lafayette,” said Janet R. Braen, CEO/Owner of Braen Stone of Sparta. “We are very proud to now be operating out of two locations in Sussex County. Along with Braen Stone of Sparta, we also run Braen Aggregates, LLC in Franklin. We greatly look forward to becoming integral parts of the community.”
