German Christmas Market to be held weekend of Dec. 7 and 8

Get ready for some great shopping, awesome food, and fun at this year's Lake Mohawk German Christmas Market. This year's event takes place on the weekend of Saturday, Dec. 7 and Sunday, Dec. 8.

(To note, this year's Lake Mohawk German Christmas Market takes place solely at Lake Mohawk Country Club (LMCC) and the Boardwalk area, and does not this year include any satellite location).

The German Market at LMCC will be open to the public at 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019.

The German-themed market has been a tradition since 2001, when it was brought to life by volunteers aiming to raise funds for local charities, while creating a unique, public event along the idyllic boardwalk of the Lake Mohawk Country Club. Now recognized as the largest annual Christmas Market in New Jersey and the only German Christmas Market in the USA whose sole mission is to donate back into the community, it has become a local tradition.The Lake Mohawk German Christmas Market Foundation, Inc. is comprised of all-volunteer.

Members of the community donate their time and effort to plan, organize and run the Market. Thirty volunteers comprise the Committee, which is managed by the Board of Trustees, seven volunteers who are elected each year by the Committee. The Board oversees major decisions and ensures the mission is met. At the end of each Market, the Board and Committee host local charities that receive funds raised through the Market. Since its inception, the Market donated $271,000 back to the local community, helping 20 charities.
