Greater Pike’s annual dinner is being planned with ‘renewed enthusiasm’

Greater Pike Community Foundation’s eighth annual dinner will be held on Oct. 5 in the newly renovated Signature Ballroom of the Tom Quick Inn in Milford.

With its theme “We survived and continue to thrive: Let’s celebrate!,” organizers say the dinner is an affirmation of recovery from a difficult year.

This will be the first major community gala to be held in the ballroom at Tom Quick since it reopened.

“The Greater Pike Community Foundation is very pleased that our dinner will be happening this year,” said Tim Smith, a Greater Pike Board member and chair of this year’s dinner committee. “We are excited for our honorees and to be the first gala at the new Tom Quick. Please join us in celebration after a very trying year for all of us. We survived and continue to thrive.”

Dinner committee and board member Maryanne Monte reflected the uplifting message when she said, “We’re getting back together and we’re kicking in on all cylinders — I love it!”

The dinner honorees, unanimously selected before the pandemic, will finally get the recognition they deserve:

● Centa Quinn will receive the Barbara J. Buchanan Community Service Award, given to an individual who exemplifies the spirit of volunteerism and giving back to the community.

● Junior Dabashi, Milford Key Foods owner, will receive The Richard L. Snyder Business Leadership Award, which recognizes a local business that has demonstrated outstanding corporate philanthropic leadership in the community.

Besides a gourmet dinner, there will be an open bar with premium cocktails and an award ceremony. Tickets are $150 per person, $275 per couple, or $1,000 for a table of eight.
