Perfect Pointe excels at NYCDA and NUVO

SPARTA — Perfect Pointe Performing Arts Studio (P.P.P.A.S.), located in Sparta, attended two prestigious competitions and conventions in April. First the dancers traveled to Philadelphia and attended the New York City Dance Alliance (NYCDA). The three day event featured a competition as well as 2 days of workshop classes with some of the brightest choreographers in the industry.
At the competition on Saturday seven group dances were awarded platinum scores. In the mini level "Goody Goody," a tap number placed second overall. In the Junior Division "Showstopper" placed fourth overall and "I've Got Rhythm" placed 5th overall. In the teen division "Roundtable Rival" a large group tap routine placed 4th overall. Perfect Pointe was also awarded the "Versatility Award" for their top performances in various dance styles. Also a number of choreography awards, costume awards, and outstanding execution awards were won by the group. Lastly the Perfect Pointe Performing Arts Company won the coveted "Backstage Good Sportsmanship Award."
On the final day of the weekend each dancer at the workshop auditioned for scholarships. Perfect Pointe dancers Jenna Blandina, Brooke Hoer, Lily Loewen, and Brittany Maio were all chosen as New York City Dance Alliance Outstanding Dancer Finalists.
Last weekend several dancers attended the NUVO Convention in East Rutherford. For 2 days the dancers attended workshop classes. Isabella Sportelli was named a Breakout Artist runner-up and Jenna Blandina, Marcella Hill, and Lily Loewen were each awarded a standout class scholarship for jazz/contemporary. Mia Von Eisenburg was recognized with a standout class scholarship in ballet.
