Self-expression through visual art, music and writing provides a healthy outlet that promotes creativity, self-discipline and self-discovery. Join others at "Journey through Arts and Music" (JAM) at The Center, 65 Newton Sparta Rd in Newton at 6 p.m. on the second Saturday of the month for the chance to present or perform an original piece of music or art and give the backstory of how it came to be and what it means to you. JAM is held at the Sussex County Recovery Community Center at 65 Newton-Sparta Road where participants can access musical instruments including a piano and drums while hospitable facilitators encourage creativity and community during the evening.

Meet others, sit back and listen or feel free to share art, poetry, music and more with an emphasis on hope, healing and recovery from addiction. This free monthly Recovery Social Event night will run open-mic style with opportunities to socialize, relax, enjoy refreshments and network with others who are recovery-friendly. Pre-registration is encouraged but not required.
