At 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019, the Sparta Historical Society is holding Thanksgiving Holiday an Open House at the Van Kirk Homestead Museum.
All permanent gallery rooms; main floor, downstairs, upstairs, and the wagon barn, will be in operation. The permanent main floor Sparta Gallery room displays Sparta’s diverse economic, historical and cultural heritage, Robert Ogden letters, exhibits on agriculture and early industries, Lake Mohawk and tourism. The permanent main floor Farm Gallery room displays vintage farming tools as well as a farm model display. As you enter, the Van Kirk Homestead, the Victorian parlor with its period furnishings greet you.
