Marching Chiefs lead Hopatcong Fire Deptartment in annual Firefighters' parade

YOUTH. The Marching Chiefs won swept up awards in the "Under the Stars" competition and won first place for Best Appearing Band at the Annual Sussex County Fireman's Parade in Franklin.

On Saturday, October 6, the Marching Chiefs entertained hundreds of people in Sussex and Morris Counties. In the afternoon they led the Hopatcong Fire Department in the the 99th Annual Sussex County Fireman's Parade through the packed streets of Franklin. Hundreds of enthusiastic parade attendees clapped, danced and cheered along to the band's patriotic parade performance. The Hopatcong Fire Department accepted on the band's behalf the First Place Best Appearing Band later at the exposition.

That evening, the Chiefs performed at the Randolph “Under the Stars” Marching Band Competition,with bands from Morris, Bergen and Passaic Counties. The Chiefs placed first in their division and swept the awards for best music, best visual, best percussion and best guard for the second year in a row.
