Sussex County Community College (SCCC) has received a $5,000 grant from the Gene Haas Foundation. This grant will benefit students of the Machine Tool Technology program through scholarship awards.

The Gene Haas Foundation was founded in 1999 to build skills in the machining industry by providing scholarships for CNC machine technology students. A portion of each grant can also be applied to special programming.

“We are truly honored to have been selected for this grant,” said Monica Lemperle, the director of the Sussex County Community College Foundation, which strives to ensure all students are financially able to attend the college through scholarship fundraising.

"This is an amazing opportunity to help assist our students within the Machine Tool Technology Program," said Jason Fruge, Program Supervisor. "The scholarship opportunities will go a long way in helping our students achieve their goals."

Gene Haas is the owner of Haas Automation, Inc., America’s leading builder of CNC machine tools.
