Locals receive collegiate accolades

The following students from Sparta have graduated, made honors lists or have otherwise distinguished themselves at institutions of higher learning.
Samantha Mornhineway graduated with honors and summa cum laude in 2017 graduate from LIM college for fashion merchandising in NYC. She is currently employed with Macbeth Collection as a production assistant/account executive.
Her sister, Miranda Mornhineway, is a 2017 graduate of Sparta HS and a gymnast. She is attending the University of Bridgeport on a full scholarship where she will continue her gymnastics as a Purple Knight gymnast. She is coached by Tony Gehman and Ashley Umberger at North Stars Gymnastics in Boonton.
Olivia A. Halevy of Sparta was named to the Spring 2017 Dean's List at Saint Michael's College in Colchester, Vermont. She is a senior media studies and digital arts major who is the daughter of Richard and Grace Halevy of Sparta and a graduate of Pope John XXIII Regional High School.

Hope Zaleski, a native of Sparta, has been named to the University of Iowa's Dean's List for the 2017 spring semester. The university is located in Iowa City, IA.
Charles Ulrich of Sparta, has been named to the Dean's List at Paul Smith's College for the spring 2017 semester. Ulrich, a senior who is majoring in natural resources management and policy, earned a semester average of 3.3 or higher to receive this distinction. The college is located in Paul Smith, NY.
