Local marine graduates boot camp

SPARTA — Marc A. Stanziale, 18, of Sparta, graduated from United States Marine Corps boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island on Oct. 31.

PFC Stanziale successfully completed 13 weeks of intensive basic training at MCRD Parris Island as one of over 450 recruits in the third Battalion, Kilo Company and was a member of Training Platoon 3085.

While in recruit training, Stanziale qualified as an Expert Rifleman, scoring the highest in his Platoon. Following ten days home on leave he reported to Camp Geiger’s Infantry Training Battalion in North Carolina for two months to continue marine combat training.

Stanziale, a 2014 Sparta HS graduate, will serve as a Marine Reservist at Ft. Dix, following his training.
