Frank Anthony Bucino Sr.

Frank Anthony Bucino, Sr. of Norwich, N.Y., passed away on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021, in Rochester, N.Y. He was 73.

Frank was born on June 12, 1947, in Jersey City, N.J., to the late Francis X. and Eleanor (McGrath) Bucino. He was raised in Hoboken, N.J., before moving to Sussex County over 60 years ago. In 2001 he and his wife, Diane, moved to Norwich, N.Y. He was a proud Air Force veteran who served during the Vietnam War.

Frank dedicated his life to public service in law enforcement. He began his career as a probation officer for Sussex County and then became an officer in the Andover Township Police Department. He went on to serve his country for 30 years in the U.S. Department of Defense Police Force, retiring as a lieutenant. Frank was a volunteer firefighters for the Andover Township Fire Department and a proud member of the Blue Knights of New York Chapter 17 and Boone and Crockett lifetime member.

The beloved husband of Diane Bucino, he is survived by his mother-in-law Jeanne Current; brother-in-law Walter Current Jr.; sister-in-law, Jeanee Mooney (Tim); nieces and nephews, Robert, Carrie, Lori, Katie, Walt and Michael; and many cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews and close friends.

Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his son Frank Bucino Jr.

Visitation was held Feb. 3 at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, Newton, N.J. A funeral service will be held privately for his immediate family on Thursday, Feb. 4.
