    Gerald Henry Forgione of Stockholm, N.J., died unexpectedly on Saturday, Dec. 26, 2020, at Newton Medical Center. He was 72.

    Son of Dr. Gerald J. Forgione and Laura (Grasso) Forgione, he was born in Waterbury, Conn., and lived in Southington, Conn., and Denville, N.J., before moving to the Skywood Estates section of Stockholm in 1984.

    Gerald was a graduate of St. John’s Prep in Davers, Mass., and then received his bachelor’s in political science and criminology from Long Island University in Southampton and Brooklyn, N.Y. Gerald worked as a criminal investigator for C.N.A. in Chicago and then moved to their regional office in Cedar Knolls and then worked for C.G.U. in Florham Park, N.J./, retiring in 2003. He served with the Hardyston Twp. Planning Board in 1988 and was a member of the Sussex County Republican Party. Gerald took great joy in boating, fishing and golf.

    Gerald is predeceased by his parents and is the beloved husband for 47 years of Karin Grace Forgione (nee Lindstrom) of Stockholm.

    He was the devoted father of CW3 Gerald R. Forgione and his wife, Sarah; loving grandfather of Ian and Kyah; and dear brother of Dr. Laureen Rubino of Connecticut.

    Visitation and a funeral service were held at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home in Franklin, N.J., on Jan. 3. Cremation is private.
