Jean Colette Imhof

Jean Colette Imhof, 89, of Sparta passed away on March 15, 2019. Jean was born on Nov. 26, 1929 in White Plains, NY to the late Louis Henry and Regina Josephine Dowling Imhof. She lived in New York City and North Arlington before settling in Lake Mohawk, Sparta for the past 58 years.
Jean married her beloved husband Raymond Kenneth O’Leary on February 23, 1957 at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral. In 1949, she graduated from Berkeley and began her career at DuPont which at the time was located in the Empire State Building. After relocating to Lake Mohawk, she was a long-time child care provider for many families within the community. She enjoyed volunteering at Reverend Brown, Pope John High School, NORWESCAP, and the Sussex County Superior Court. In later life, she decided to further her education and obtained her Associates Degree in Arts from Sussex County Community College on May 20, 1993.
Jean (Imhof) O’Leary was predeceased by her beloved husband Raymond of 60 years in 2017. She is survived by her five cherished sons; Kevin and his wife Kathleen of Lafayette, NJ., Sean of Manassas, VA., Brian and his wife Donna of Newton, NJ., Terence and his wife Jeannine of Port St. Lucie, FL., and Brendan and his wife Elene of Sparta, NJ., her two loving daughters; Maureen Brown and her husband David of Solon, OH., and Maura Elkhatib and her husband Aiman of Fairfax Station, VA. Jean is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren; Caitlin, Erinn, Meghan, Conor, Colleen, Kelly, Camille, Cameron, Ryan, Kyle, Jarrett, Justin, Julia, Nicholas, Patrick, Olivia, and Daniel O’Leary; Corrine and Cara Brown; Adam, Sarah, and Aiden Elkhatib.
Friends and Family are welcome to visit at Goble Funeral Home 22 Main St., Sparta, NJ 07871 on Wednesday March 20, 2019 from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Church 294 S Sparta Ave., Sparta NJ 07871. Interment will follow at Good Shepherd Cemetery in Green Twp. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jean’s memory can be made to the Angel’s Fund - Pope John XXIII Endowment Fund, P.O.
