Stanley J. Campen, a resident of Vernon, N.J., passed away at home on Dec. 19, 2020, after a well fought lengthy battle with cancer. He was 71.

Son of the late George J.Campen and Emma Mary Campen (DeCrescenzo), he was born in Paterson, N.J.

Stan retired from his job as security police officer at Montclair State University and previously held a position as special police officer in Little Falls, N.J. Stan was an avid hiker, especially on the Appalachian Trail. His favorite activities, after hiking, were visiting Dunkin’ Donuts with his best friend, Bill, bus trips to Atlantic City, and beach vacationing in Ocean City N.J.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Richard Campen.

Stan is survived by his devoted companion. Barbara McDermott; and loving twin brother, Steven Campen, of Bangor, Pa., and brother Kenneth Campen and his wife, Sadie, of Little Falls, N.J. He is survived as well by his nephews Kenneth Campen Jr. of Little Falls, N.J., Steve Campen of Effort, Pa., and Michael Campen of Bainbridge, N.Y., and niece Sunshine Campen of Effort, Pa.
