Susie L. Kowalick (nee Gurganus) of Ogdensburg, N.J., passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021, at Newton Medical Center from non-Covid-related problems. She was 78.

Born in Jacksonville, N.C., to Vinson and Kathleen Gurganus, she has lived in Ogdensburg for 46 years.

Sue is predeceased by her daughter, Cindy Danley (1992); and brothers, George and Danny Gurganus.

She is the beloved wife for 46 years of Thomas Kowalick of Ogdensburg; devoted mother of Lee Sugot and his wife, Sally, of Franklin, N.J.; loving grandmother of Kyle Sugot of Lafayette Township, N.J., Kaylee Sugot of Bridgewater, N.J., and Derrick Danley of Lancaster, S.C.; cherished by a great-grandchild; dear sister of Eleanor McKivitz of Jacksonville, N.C., Jimmy Gurganus of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Kenny Gurganus of Carolina Beach, N.C.

Sue worked for 50 years in the food and beverage service industry. She loved her garden and flowers, sharing the harvest with neighbors and friends. She was a very outgoing person, helping family and friends in any way she could and will be dearly missed. Rest forever in peace.

Private cremation services are under the direction of F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, Franklin.
