William L. Crane

    William L. Crane passed away suddenly at his home on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, after a long illness. He was 91. William was born in Hamburg, NJ to Raymond and Minnie (Paulison) Crane. He was a lifelong resident of Ogdensburg, NJ. William served his country proudly during WW II with the US Army. He was employed for over 20 years with M & M Mars Corporation in Hackettstown, NJ, working previously with NJ Zinc Company in Ogdensburg. He was a member of American Legion Post 132, Franklin, NJ, The Ogdensburg Veterans of Foreign War Post serving in the color guard, and the Kittatinny Masonic Lodge #164. William also loved fishing and hunting. He is predeceased by his 1st wife Doris M. Pierce, and two sons; Lonnie L. Crane in 2003, and William W. Pierce in 2005. Surviving him is his wife Betty (Phillips) Crane. Daughters, Susan Archer of Albany, NY, Judy Eldred of Branchville, NJ, and Jean Heater of Crystal River, Fl. Grandchildren, William W. Pierce Jr., Kevin M. Pierce, Edna M. Flett, Yvette Budeau, John Archer, Danielle Eldred and Richard Eldred III, Justin, Joshua, and Kimberly Heater. 11 Great grandchildren, and daughter in law, Barbara J. Pierce of Hardyston, NJ. Family and friends attended last Friday at Goble Funeral Home 22 Main Street Sparta, NJ 07871. A Saturday 11am Celebration of Life Service was held at Goble Funeral Home followed by interment in North Hardyston Cemetery, Hamburg, NJ. Memorial contributions are being accepted to the William W.
