Restaurant Hunter tapes an episode at Mohawk House

A TV crew from Restaurant Hunter, a show that airs on FIOS 1, came to Sussex County on Thursday, Aug 15, to tape a segment at the Mohawk House for an upcoming episode . According to producer and host Christine Sloan, the episode is meant to follow the trail of the renowned butcher’s cuts to his exclusive partners in northern New Jersey, which led her to the Mohawk House and to The Committed Pig in Morristown.
The half-hour program features each eatery's signature dishes, but is also notes relationship between the food, the restauranteurs, and their communities.
“I came here some time ago, before I started this job,” Sloan said, “And I told myself that I’d come back ‘someday’ when I had my dream food program.”
Mohawk House owner Steve Scro spent a little over three hours touring the building, meeting with staff, and sitting down for an interview over a large LaFrieda steak.
“Being able to highlight our relationship with Pat LaFrieda meats, here in Sussex County, helps us show that we can be a food and restaurant destination," Scro said.
The episode, “Restaurant Hunter NJ: The Meat Trail," will premiere at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sep 19, on Verizon FiOS1 News and Channel 501, and will be re-aired periodically.
