ShopRite opened its doors this week complete with live music, special offerings, and samples throughout the store. The Sparta High School Band played prior to the ribbon cutting on Oct. 23, and the Sparta VFW presented colors.
The grand opening celebration included local office holders and the RoNetco Supermarkets team, including Dominick J. Romano, RoNetco’s Vice President & COO; David Romano, RoNetco’s Vice President & CFO, and RoNetco supervisors, merchandisers, managers, and Sparta ShopRite associates. Prior to the ribbon cutting, the Sparta High School Marching Band performed and the local VFW conducted a flag raising ceremony. The store opened to the public immediately following the 10 a.m. ribbon cutting. The opening day celebrations included samples throughout the store, promotional items and giveaways, live music, and a photo booth and circus entertainers from noon to 5 p.m..
ShopRite of Sparta is owned by RoNetco Supermarkets, Inc., a family-owned company with nearly a century in the grocery business and seven ShopRite stores in northwestern New Jersey. The new ShopRite will offer one-stop shopping with a wide selection of groceries including both store and national brands, locally sourced foods and a variety of fresh prepared and restaurant-style meals. The store will employ 250 full- and part-time associates.

With an emphasis on reducing its eco footprint, the new ShopRite of Sparta also features energy-efficient refrigeration and lighting, with LED lighting throughout the store and its parking lot.ShopRite of Sparta will be open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays, and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays.
