American Legion Lt. Charles A. Meyer Post 86 received a flag on Monday, Oct 14, a gift from Congressman Josh Gottheimer’s (D-NJ5) office. The flag, folded and displayed in a traditional triangular glass front case, was flown over the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. at the request of Gottheimer to honor the centennial of the founding of the American Legion in 1919.

The flag and its accompanying certificate were presented by Cheryl Krouse, Rep. Gottheimer’s Director of Community Outreach, to Post Commander Tony Gallopo during the Post’s regular monthly membership meeting.

“Thank you for having me this evening, “ Krouse said, “I’m so honored to be able to bring you this flag.”
