Kiley Nagrosst of Sparta won $500 in the PenChecks Financial Future Challenge.

Kiley’s entry, Saving Money, was a runner-up in the challenge, a national competition sponsored geared toward students ages 7-13. The program challenges students to come up with creative ways to teach their peers about financial literacy, and includes a curriculum with hands-on activities to introduce money management skills to students.

PenChecks Trust and EduNetwork Partners awarded the top entries. There were four winners and five runners-up.

The winners were selected based on their concept originality, description of the idea, creativity, and effectiveness of their entry.

“We are thrilled with the entries from these talented kids in the second year of the Financial Future Challenge,” said Spiro Preovolos, CEO of PenChecks Trust. “I am extremely pleased to see the understanding these children have acquired of money management basics and how they translated them into valuable teaching tools for their peers.
