— Lake Mohawk Country Club held its first annual Oktoberfest on Sunday, Oct.1.
Parlaying the success of the German Christmas Market, the organization has been upping its game to bring more excitement to the boardwalk setting.
The first Oktoberfest was a crowd pleaser with German fare, German beer and a German band. In addition, spectacular weather made for an ideal setting. Children enjoyed a huge bounce house and games on the beach. There was also a variety of vendors, some from Sparta Farmers Market
Not heavily promoted, event organizers were thrilled with the turnout and feedback.
“We are so proud of our first Oktoberfest at LMCC. The day was an amazing microcosm of what our community is all about, people who value traditions, family time, fun, coming together with friends and neighbors and the beautiful place in which we live,” said Barbara L. Wortmann, Interim General Manager Lake Mohawk Country Club. “Many thanks to all the volunteers, staff and attendees. It was a great day for all.”
