    On 1/18/20 at 12:26 p.m., Newton Police Officers responded to the Weis Parking Lot located at 119 Water Street for a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, Sgt. Thomas Tosti observed the adult female pedestrian, later identified to be Yalanda Ford, age 49, of Newton to be lying on the pavement with a complaint of pain to her right hip. A witness stated that she was with Ford and as they neared a concrete island in front of Weis Market when Ford was suddenly struck by a a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, Nasir Siddiqui, age 58, a resident of Newton, NJ stated that he had just left a parking space and he was making a left hand turn to drive out, he failed to observe Ford and struck her. Siddiqui was issued a summons for the following: 39:4-97 - Careless Driving Ford was transported to the Newton Medical Center by Newton First Aid Squad. Investigating Officers: Sgt. Thomas Tosti Ptl.
