Pass It Along to hold Volunteer Day

Community. Members of the public are invited to bake cookies, or write cards to hospitalized children on Pass It Along's Family Volunteer Day at 10 a.m. at Sparta Evangelical church.

Pass It Along to Hold Family Volunteer Day, Nov. 23. Pass it Along will host Family Volunteer Day at 10 a.m. to noon on Nov. 23, 2019 at the Sparta Evangelical Free Church in Sparta.

Register as an individual, group, or family to serve in a variety of service projects. To adopt a family in need and bring them a holiday meal, contact Kathy Rathbone at kathy@passitalong.org, or call 973-726-9777.

During the event those enrolled to sponsor a family will be asked to drop off donations at 10 a.m to noon. Boxes, which are encouraged to be decorated at the event, will be provided to gather donations for the selected family. Volunteers will have the option to create dog toys for Father John's Animal House in Lafayette, or write notes for Pass It Along's 'Note in a Coat' Drive, or bake cookies, or Create Cards for Hospitalized Children, which is located in Chicago.

The event was created 24 years ago by Points of Light, an affiliate partner, as a way to kick off the holiday season. It's a part of National Family Week, sponsored by the Alliance for Children and Families and the Annie E. Casey Foundation. Sponsors are Atlantic Health Systems, Newton Medical Center, the Orthopedic Institute of NJ, First Hope Bank, and Thor Labs. Other sponsors include; Sutherland Packaging, Stop and Shop of Sparta, and the Sparta Evangelical Free Church.
