Public safety. A Sussex Muster  a fire equipment competition and display is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Oct. 13 at Sussex County Community College.

Sussex County Community College’s Public Safety Training Academy will be the site for the 11h annual Sussex County Muster on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 10 a.m. The event will be held rain or shine.

A muster is a gathering of antique fire equipment for the purpose of display and competition. Vehicles at the Sussex County Muster will be judged on the premises of the Public Safety Training Academy. From 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., there will be demonstrations by the fire academy such as the burn building and spill simulator. Awards will be presented at 2 p.m. Equipment vendors will be on display as well as a Firematic demonstrations and Firematic competitions throughout the day. There will be a Fire Service helicopter, Fire Safety Trailer, new and old fire trucks, a bounce house for the kids and food.
