The turf is here

Sparta's new turf has been unfolded at the High School athletic field this week. Groundbreaking took place in Sept. 2019 for the project, which includes perimeter fencing, new visitor bleachers, walkways, a new scoreboard, and updates to the home bleachers so they are handicap accessible. Sparta Schools Superintendent Dr. Michael Rossi has called the turf project a "game changer" and said the entire community will benefit from the improvements. School officials note that it's not only Sparta High School's football players who will benefit from new turf, but the field will be used by band members, cheerleaders, and the lacrosse and field hockey teams. Additionally, students taking physical education will at times use the field, too.
