The ShopRite of Sparta has initiated a voluntary recall of store-made ground pork, bulk hot and sweet sausage, and meatloaf mix produced and sold on Thursday, Nov. 21. There is a possibility that the products may contain small metal fragments due to a problem with the grinder. No other products sold at ShopRite are affected by the recall, and no injuries related to the recall have been reported.

“We are advising customers who purchased any of the recalled items at the ShopRite of Sparta to return them for an immediate refund or replacement,” said ShopRite Spokesperson Karen Meleta. ShopRite has reached out to Price Plus card customers who purchased the recalled products to alert them to the recall. This is an isolated incident and affects only the ShopRite of Sparta. The store is located at 18 N. Village Blvd. in Sparta.

Pre-packaged ground meat and pork products sold in other ShopRite stores in the area are not affected by this recall. ShopRite is asking customers to check the labels of any store-made ground pork, bulk sausage or meatloaf mix they may have purchased at the ShopRite of Sparta with a sell-by date of Nov. 21.

Customers can return the recalled products for a full refund or replacement. Customer questions or concerns can be directed to 1-800-ShopRite (1-800-746-7748).
