M.V. STOPS LEADS TO ARREST OF MILFORD WOMAN
On 11/19/2019 at approximately 10:30 pm, P.O. Michael Poon observed a grey Kia, travelling north on Rt. 15, failing to maintain its’ lane. Upon stopping the vehicle and approaching the driver, 48 yr old Margaret Ryan-Newton of Milford, PA, Officer Poon suspected that Ms. Ryan-Newton had been consuming alcoholic beverages. She was asked to perform Field Sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for DWI upon completion of the testing. She was transported to Sparta Police HQ for processing and was given breath tests. Ms. Ryan-Newton was charged with: DWI, Failure to Keep Right, Careless Driving and Improper Display of Plates. She was advised of a mandatory court appearance and released to a sober adult.
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE LEADS TO NEWTON WOMAN’S ARREST
On 11/19/2019 at approximately 10:40 pm, P.O. Steven Guido checked on a black Chevy Camaro bearing NY plates that was parked in the lot of a closed business. Officer Guido approached the vehicle and observed a white female in the backseat of the vehicle. It appeared that she had blood on her arms. Officer Guido made contact with the female, 30 yr old Jamie Odea of Newton, NJ, and asked her if she was okay. Ms. Odea rolled her sleeves down and did not want Officer Guido to look at her arms. When Ms. Odea was asked to step out of the vehicle, there was an empty wax fold (commonly used to store heroin) on the rear seat. Search of the rear seat revealed suspect crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, hypodermic needles and additional empty wax folds. Ms. Odea was placed under arrest and transported to Sparta Police HQ for processing. She was charged with: Poss. of Cocaine, Poss. of Marijuana, Poss. of Hypodermic Needles and Poss. of Drug Paraphernalia. She was advised of a mandatory court appearance and released.
