Kyle Muir wins academic athletic achievement award

Stanhope. A local athlete who graduated from Lenape Valley Regional and who attends Georgian Court University, has been recognized for special achievement by the NCAA.

    The NCAA Division 2 Athletic Directors Association (D2 ADA) recently recognized student athletes for the 2018-2019 Academic Achievement Award. To receive the D2 ADA Academic Award a student-athlete must (1) have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale; (2) have attended a minimum of two years (Four Semesters) of college level work; and (3) have been an active member of an intercollegiate team during his/her last academic year.

    Muir is currently entering his junior year at Georgian Court University (GCU) located in Lakewood, New Jersey, where he is pursuing a degree in Accounting. He maintains a G.P.A. of 3.85 and has been named to GCU’s Dean List for all four semesters. He also competes on the Men’s Track Team where he throws the javelin. GCU competes in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC). During his Freshmen year, Kyle won the Javelin competition in the CACC tournament. Kyle was also named to the 2019 CACC Track & Field All-Academic Team in his first year of eligibility. Muir is a native of Stanhope and a 2017 graduate of Lenape Valley Regional High School. He is due to graduate from Georgian Court University in May, 2021.
