Sports. The Young Fencing Spartans recently excelled at a regional competition. National Fencing Alliance is offering a Thanksgiving special rate for fencing classes for Sparta area youth.

The Young Fencing Spartans recently competed at 2019 the National Fencing Alliance – ‘’NFA Youth Fencing Cup ‘’ in Little Falls Recreation Center. They competed in the Youth saber categories.
Young NFA Spartans won one gold, one silver and one bronze medal. At early group, stage fencers competed to five touches.
At direct elimination, they competed to 10 (beginners) or 15 (advanced) touches.2019.
NFA Youth Tournament Final results:
• At Categories Youth Beginners Mix Saber: Adam Mustafa (West Milford Middle School) won Silver medal, Mila Valentin (Pope John’s Middle School, Sparta) won Bronze medal
• At Categories Youth Mix Electric Saber: Benjamin Giralt (Helen Morgan Middle School, Sparta) finished first and won Gold medal, Griffin Brawer (Middle School Sparta) finished 5th place.
Sparta NFA is holding a Thanksgiving special: group Fencing sessions every Wednesday at 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at # 38 Station Rd, Sparta, in the PAL gym. The NFA special includes use of club and free practice fencing equipment for NFA members. Info for parents: Entry number are limited (First come -first serve basis) minimum starting age 7 year old.
