Summer Basketball League

Team Smalley defeated Team Melville in basketball on Monday, July 8, 2019. The final score was 55-45. The Sparta Summer Basketball League game took place at the Ungerman Field sports complex in Sparta Township, New Jersey.
Team Smalley thus far has not lost a game this season. They improve their record to 9-0.
Team Melville continues to struggle this season with a 1-8 record.
The Sparta Summer Basketball League has been a fixture in Sussex County for many years. Several teams are competing this season. Games are usually played at the outside basketball courts at Ungerman field except when it rains then the action takes place indoors at The House of Sports facility at 14 Park Lake Road. The public is welcome to watch the games for free which take place Monday through Thursday evenings. Two games are played each evening at 6:30 p.m.
The Sparta Summer Basketball League is active in the months of June and July. Many of the participating basketball players are current or former athletes of regional high schools and colleges.
