In support of NJ District 11 Congressional Candidate Mikie Sherrill

I support Mikie Sherrill in her bid to represent NJ Congressional District 11. I have been particularly impressed by the way that she has conducted her campaign in positive way. I have attended three events at which Mikie has spoken to folks in an informal, personal manner. Mikie is not a career politician. Her ambition is to represent her constituents by fighting for what is important to them. I did not hear her once speak of her opponent in a disrespectful or partisan manner. Her dialogue was about specific issues that voters are concerned about and how her approach would differ from her opponent’s.
For example, two issues that are discussed are taxation and infrastructure. Mikie has spoken about the need to modify the 2017 Tax Reform, which did not treat Congressional District 11 voters well as a result of the SALT deduction limit. The infrastructure issue that concerns District 11 voters is the fact that the federal government is only returning about 72% of NJ federal tax payments back to NJ at a time when there is a great need to repair bridges, tunnels and railway lines. Mikie would fight for a good outcome on these issues whereas her opponent has been inclined to voice support for the tax bill and the withholding of infrastructure funding.
Please remember to vote on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 6.
