Letter to New Jersey's employers from Lt. Gov. Oliver

We realize many of you have questions and concerns regarding the coronavirus. While the second presumptive positive case was officially reported earlier this afternoon (March 5,2020), Governor Murphy and his administration have been engaged in an active multi-level approach to the virus and the safety and health of New Jersey residents.

Our public health experts are able to provide guidance to ensure that you and your agencies are prepared. The administration has created a 24-hour hotline (1-800-222-1222) for residents to stay informed and have their questions addressed. Additionally, the NJ Department of Health developed a web page to provide information and guidance to the general public, employees, employers, schools and healthcare workers. Consistent with our Department of Health and CDC guidance, steps that can be taken to make sure that you and employees at your agency are prepared include:

-Wash hands often, and with water for 20 seconds.

-Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

-Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

-Stay at home, if sick.

-Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
